I have been a full-time piano technician since 1994. I received my training at the Piano Technology Program at George Brown College in Toronto. Subsequently, I qualified for an internship at the Banff Centre For the Arts working with their resident technicians on pianos that were used for performances, recordings, dance classes, accompaniment for singers and instrumentalists and by musicians using the practice rooms. It was an invaluable experience that gave me a terrific start as a piano technician.
I have played the piano since I was seven. I studied with many talented and dedicated teachers in achieving my ARCT from the Royal Conservatory of Music. I studied piano at the University of Western Ontario where I was awarded a Bachelor of Music degree.
For many years between graduating from the University of Western Ontario and becoming a piano technician I was successful as a Researcher for a management consulting company specializing in policy research and feasibility studies; an Executive Search Consultant for a leading management consulting firm; a property manager for the YMCA Community and Youth Services; and a framing carpenter in North Carolina.
